Vonage has just announced the launch of its new "Vonage World" plan which gives you:

• Unlimited local and long distance in the U.S. and Puerto Rico
• FREE unlimited calling to more than 60 other countries**, including India, Mexico and Canada NEW
• Convert all your voicemails to emails and text messages with Vonage Visual Voicemails
• 25+ calling features included like Caller ID, Call Waiting and Anonymous Call Block.
• Switch to Vonage and keep your existing phone number

This plan replaces Vonage's Residential Premium Unlimited plan, which also cost $24.99, but did not include free calling to countries outside the US (rates varied from $.01 to $1.25 per minute depending on the country).  Before you sign up, make sure that the country/countries you plan on calling are on the FREE list.

If you're not familiar with Vonage, it is a VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) system that allows you to connect your home phone to your internet connection and make phone calls via the internet to any phone in the world (land, cell or other).  Vonage also comes with a great set of features like Voicemail, CallerID, Call Waiting and More.
